One month before their graduation from Lima&#8217;s Genesee College, two young students abandoned their studies to enlist in the army and help recruit their fellow students for what was to become Company G of the 27th Regiment of the New York Volunteer Infantry. They fought in over 20 Civil War battles, including First Bull Run, Fredericksburg, and Gaines Mills.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">These Civil War heroes were forgotten until the 1950&#8217;s when another young man, Dennis Bielewicz discovered a secret room in an abandoned farmhouse and in it a trunk holding documents documenting the service of the two young soldiers almost a century before. This led to a lifetime of research, fleshing out the personal experiences and lives of H. Seymour Hall and Benjamin Coffin&#8211;much of it through their own words in diaries, letters and newspaper articles. It has culminated in a recently published book by Dennis Bielewicz.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Come and share in the speaker&#8217;s enthusiasm for the bravery of these forgotten heroes. The presentation will be held at the Lima Town Hall.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The presentation is free and open to the public.
