The Museum is located in the village of Lima at 1850 Rochester Street. The museum is open on Sundays, June thru September, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm or by special appointment. These events will be limited until this Pandemic is under control. We are a non-profit organization, so most of these events are free to the public. We do, however, welcome donations and we also hold some fund raising events during the year when we can. The Impact of the Civil War
on the Lima Community

The Tennie Burton Museum in Lima has a new summer exhibit focused on the impact of the Civil War on the people of Lima—the soldiers and their families who endured so much during the four long years of war. Learn the heartwarming story of two young men from Lima’s Genesee College who organized their fellow students to form Company G of the 27th Regiment of the Union Army. Included are weapons, clothing, letters, diaries, photos, discharge and pension papers, original regimental rosters, and a complete inventory of those Civil War veterans buried in local cemeteries.
Step back in time and remember Lima’s unique story.

Open every Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 PM June until the end of September.
Admission is free.
